Description
This culinary program teaches participants the basics of how to cook using fresh herbs from the garden. You can use the bounty of your own herb garden or scout out the early autumn Farmers Markets for a local harvest of fresh herbs. During her program, Mrs. Weisensale:
- Identifies popular culinary herbs and reviews their most common cooking usages
- Demonstrates her favorite tools for working with fresh herbs in the kitchen
- Discusses how to store and preserve fresh herbs from the garden
- Facilitates a hands-on session in the TMB kitchen where each participant makes their own herbal butter to take home and enjoy; all ingredients and kitchen tools are provided
- Facilitates an “herbal tasting” with samples of some of her favorite herbal dishes, both savory and sweet; recipes are provided
It is Mrs. Weisensale’s sincerest hope that this program inspires participants to begin cooking, or cooking even more, with fresh herbs!
